Skandamata, celebrating the 5th night of Navratri. This series of 9 sculptures was created in honor of the Hindu Holiday of Navratri, the nine night celebration of 9 different incarnations of the goddess Durga.

On Night 5 we salute Skandamata, the Goddess in her motherly benevolent form as mother to Skanda (Kartikeya, Murugan, Subramanya) her child with Lord Shiva. She rides a lion and In her 4 arms she holds 2 lotus flowers, her son who holds a bow and arrow, and her hand in abhaya mudra, the gesture of protection.
